Clangers for Kindness

Clangers for Kindness

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with "Clangers" and Coolabi.  All opinions are my own. Teaching our kids to be kind is so important, but it can be hard to figure out how exactly to do it. Through the Clangers for Kindness campaign, we're urged to take part in kind acts. When we spread kindness, our planet becomes a better place. The Clangers spread kindness across the Blue Planet in each episode and my family is sharing how we spread kindness locally. We believe strongly in ... Read More

Matilda’s Updated Nursery

Matilda decided that she was going to grow up quickly and started climbing out of her crib last week (kids these days!). That put us in panic mode to get her room toddler-proofed so that I'm not scrambling every time I hear the telltale thunk. It also has me starting to think about what I'll do with the room when we transition her to a bed. Matilda's nursery has been my favorite from day one and I'm all mushy over my baby growing up and moving on from a baby's room to a toddler's room. If ... Read More

Sewing Machine Stories

**This post has been written in association with Tesco. All opinions are my own.** I’ve always thought of sewing machines as the one thing that all grandmothers have in their house. I imagine the stories behind what they’ve made and the people who have used them. It’s the one machine that I think of as necessary for anyone’s craft room, whether it’s a modern machine or a vintage piece. A sewing machine helps create a baby’s first quilt, a child’s first day of school outfit, a Christmas ... Read More

A Tropical Kick-Start Day with Jamba Juice

Jamba Juice

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jamba Juice. All opinions are 100% mine. It wasn't until recently that I realized just how much I do during the day. I get up with the girls and we go through our morning routine (breakfast, get dressed, brush teeth and hair, double check any homework, daily medications taken...) before I take them to school. I have two different stops and then head to any appointments or errands I have. If there's time, I do some housework before I pick up ... Read More

2015 Goals

It felt like we spent all of December being sick. It was frustrating to not be able to go and do all of the things we had planned initially, but it turned into a nice, relaxing holiday for us. The relaxing part actually included quite a lot of housework. We have donation places who will come to our neighborhood for pick-up, so we're able to put everything out in the driveway on the scheduled morning and they will come haul it away. We're really spoiled with this system. I get ... Read More

Merry Christmas!

It has been an absolutely wonderful Christmas here. The girls woke up to discover that Santa had left them each a doll in their beds. I love hearing the squeals as they spot the tree for the first time. I wish I had video of it! Their presents were loved. You know you've done well when they open the first one and immediately want to play with it, completely disregarding that there are any more to open! A breakfast of chocolate croissants, a morning of playing, Christmas movies in the ... Read More

Welcome

about me

I’ve wanted to be an archaeologist, in theatre, a judge, and to run a museum. While I try to decide what I want to be when I grow up, I spend my time crafting and exploring the world. Read More…
