September Stitch Fix

There are few things I love more than the transition from summer to fall. I love the colors, the cooler temps that lead to layering, the sheer coziness of clothes…all of it. Stitch Fix must have read my mind with my latest box. My stylist sent me fantastic transitional pieces and I had a lot of fun trying them on.

September Stitch Fix

Here’s something you may not know about me–I’m a total bag junky. I love purses and pouches and totes. I couldn’t tell you how many I have, but I use them all. I’ve been with Stitch Fix for three years and had no idea they offered bags. Crazy, right?! I received the Adora Stud Border Tote this month and it was instant love. I’m not even going to pretend that I considered sending it back. It’s roomy, has dividers and is just plain awesome. I love the gold studs. I’ve already switched everything out to it. It’s big and awesome and I love it.

I received two shirts this month. The first was the Xander Short Sleeve Woven Back Sweatshirt. Now, I’ll tell you that I cheated this month and looked up what I was getting before I received it. I saw pictures of this shirt, but it was in different colors. I wasn’t sure which color I was getting. This shirt was comfortable and fun, but the color of the back panel wasn’t my favorite. I decided to send it back in the end. It probably would have been better if I hadn’t seen the other color options, but that’s what I get for trying to sneak a peek.

The second shirt was the Rinaldi Crochet Detail Blouse. I loved the olive green color. The details were so fun. I don’t think the sleeve was very flattering on me, though, and the shirt wrinkled easily. It was another debate because the shirt was so close to hitting the right marks and I really did love the color, but I decided to send it back in the end.

So. Let’s talk about the jeans. I’ve talked before about having a hard time finding jeans that fit me well. I’m short and curvy and there’s nothing worse than wearing uncomfortable and unflattering jeans. I may have started drooling when I pulled these jeans out of the box. They’re the Lacy Distressed Skinny Jean and it was love at first sight. BUT, a quick look at the tag told me that they were a size smaller than I usually wear. I was prepared to mope over sending them back, but when they zipped up, I was over the moon. These jeans are staying here with me. They’re the perfect length, which almost never happens. I adore the zipper detail. The rips are perfect. I gush. And I wear them some more. And I will learn to trust my stylists who really do pay attention to sizing and what I’m pinning.

The final item this month was a pair of Emer Houndstooth Straight Leg Pant. I’m a big fan of the Emer pants and this was a really fun print. They fit well, but I was confused about the length.

I couldn’t figure out how to wear them. I wasn’t sure if they were supposed to be that short. If they were, I had no idea how to wear them during the cooler days of fall. They were comfortable and the print was great, but I sent them back. I’m prepared to find out that this is a current style, but I couldn’t figure it out.

In the end, I kept the tote and the jeans. Everything was fun to try on and I always enjoy learning more about my style through the process. My September Stitch Fix has me really excited for what the rest of fall will bring. If you’d like to try Stitch Fix out for yourself, please sign up through my referral link. I’m not kidding when I say that Stitch Fix gave me a sense of style again after years of being in a frumpy funk. They’ve given me a grab and go wardrobe and I always feel put together and get compliments on what I’m wearing. And besides all of that, it’s fun to try on new clothes!

I think you made the right choice by keeping the tote and jeans, those are both fabulous. I also really like that last pear of pants as well, but I agree but that length is a little weird.

They’re vintage shoes I bought years ago. I’m sorry I don’t have anything better to tell you!

I had no idea you could look up what your getting in your next fix. Not that I would want to do that, my favorite thing about Stitch Fix is the surprise element. I think the pants are suppose to be that short. I have several pair that length myself. That olive green top is so cute, it’s a shame it wrinkles so easily.

You can only look up what you’re getting after it’s been sent. You just go to the checkout option. 😉 I don’t always look it up, though!

I’m with the others: those shoes are fabulous!!!! I really like the checkered pants. I have a bunch of ankle length pants l plan on wearing for the Fall with ankle boots. If they are slim enough, you can also wear tall boots with them (just in case Stitch Fix sends you another pair!). (BTW, I found your blog from Friday Favorites linkup at Closet by Christie!) Happy Styling.
